There is more to Rusutsu than miles of untracked powder runs. Rusutsu resort is a delight for families too. There are a host of activities aimed at kids or adults who want to do more on their holiday than just ski or snowboard. Like tubing, dog sledding, snowmobiling and more. In summer the resort is a fun park outside complete with roller coaster and assorted rides but inside in winter they also have some great fun activities.
There is also a small wave pool at Rusutsu where you can ride boogie boards on a small wave.
There is a merry go round in the themed area with many different restaurants available to taste culinary delights from around the world.
The ski and snowboard school has very few English speaking instructors.
There is a childcare facility at Rusutsu. As with Niseko, all day uninterrupted daycare is not available. You must pick up the kids for lunch and drop them back after lunch for the afternoon session.
It's possible to rent skis and snowboards in the main resort complex at West Mountain. Prices are quite expensive even if staying in the resort, and availability of large sizes (boots, boards) is limited so its better to bring your own gear.
