If you're into statistics, well then mark down Feb 3 2010 as so far the coldest day of the 9 -10 season. We also have around 350cm of packed base at the top & about 220cm packed base at the bottom. Nice ! ;-)) At the top, the mercury dipped to a still temp of 23 under with chill factor at almost minus 40 !! The village is down to a chilly minus 15 & 25 under with the chill factor breeze. The last 24hrs has also had exceptional snow fall with around 50cm+ till the 3pm time slot. Both upper lifts which allow rider access to gates # 2 & 4 have been closed all day due to gusts on just the wrong side safe as far as Tokyu lift system goes. Great news for those riders getting amongst it tomorrow, with the wind due to drop overnight, the turns tomorrow in back country & off both upper lifts will be nothing short of epic waist to chest bone dry dust. The next 2 to 3 days will not be that different as far as temps go & in addition, there are some very good snow falls booked up here in Niseko till at least Sunday morning. February is shaping up in Typical Deep Classic Niseko style, so pace your energy, rug up & let it rip. Please Ride Wisely.
