Great turns were to be had over the entire resort today with around 20cm of fresh overnight & another 10-15 falling during the day. The winds backed off to around 15ks & allowed all gates & lifts to open on time. With none of the high country open yesterday, there were people actually running from parrot single up to the peak when the patrol opened gate #3. There was 60cm + of world class fresh dry powder up there & riders wasted no time getting amongst it. Temps were around 16 under on the mountain & approx 10 below in the village. Gate # 4 down to Jacksons opened at 11 & the north face held superb thigh deep powder all the way to Hanazono Golf club ( 1st fairway is about 4 meters under snow ). The outlook is more of the same. Consistent snow through till at least Monday & temps at about minus 15 –20 on the mountain with this West North West air flow. Saturday night is looking very intense with a major drop booked in. Lots of fresh powder up there – The hard core Feb riders are trucking onto town to get amongst some of the best & probably the most consistent powder anywhere on the globe. Of course –It’s Niseko.
