3.30pm Wrap
The moderate to heavy fall that was forecast resulted a tad lame with around 25 cm in the last 24hrs & the wind ripped in from the North West at about 6oks.
Huge plumes of windblown could be seen whipping off the upper peaks this morning & way to strong for the lifts to operate normally.
Around noon, we had the middle part of the mountain open but all top lifts & gates have remained closed all day from wind that has built very dangerous unstable slabbing & cornice areas.
The temps have risen to a more civilized level with around minus 10 at the top & 5 under at village levels.
Thankfully, the forecast is for the winds to back off tonight & velocities of approx 20 -25 ks tomorrow should have all lifts open for business.
The outlook is for stable winds with perhaps a degree or 2 warmer tomorrow & consistent light falls over the next 5 --7 days.
Please ride wisely.
