Kutchan information
Located at the foot of Mount Yōtei, Kutchan is the gateway town to the Niseko region and offers a welcoming blend of local character and international ski culture. Just a short drive from Hanazono, the town provides a wide range of dining options, from casual eateries to diverse international cuisine, ensuring plenty of choice for every taste. Guests will also find supermarkets, pharmacies, convenience stores, and a variety of retail shops, making it easy to access everyday essentials. Beyond its practical conveniences, Kutchan offers an authentic glimpse into daily Japanese life, where traditional neighbourhood streets and local businesses create a relaxed and genuine mountain-town atmosphere distinct from the resort villages.
Lesson & Rentals
Equipment rentals and lessons can be arranged with Niseko International Snowsports School (based in Hanazono) or NBS (based in Niseko Hirafu).
NBS lessons are exclusively offered in Hirafu, with private lessons, premium rentals and a dedicated Kids Club for a seamless snow experience.
Planning a day in Hirafu? Arrive empty handed and let us take care of everything, from gear to guidance, while you drop the kids at the Kids Club and explore the slopes of Grand Hirafu or Niseko Village, then return just in time for après in the village.
