About Appi Kogen Ski Resort
Located around 3.5hrs by bullet train and bus is Tohoku’s largest resort of Appi Kogen and is considered one of the best quality ski resorts in Japan. The 282 hectare resort’s north facing slopes keep the snow in top condition throughout the season. On average, more than 8 metres of dry powder snow falls each season. The resort is renowned for its quality grooming and there are plenty of runs left ungroomed for those who love powder.

Lift Passes
Appi lift passes can be purchased once you arrive in resort and arranged through your accommodation hosts. One pass provides lift access to all resort areas with the choice of hourly passes, day passes or multi day passes. Night Skiing is available on the lower slopes.

Transfers
Appi Kogen Ski Resort is 3.5hrs from Haneda airport. The easiest way is to use a JR Rail pass to ride the JR Hayabusa bullet train from Tokyo station to Morioka (~2hrs) and then jump on a bus direct to Appi (~50min).

Lessons & Rentals
English speaking Instructors are limited and only available for private lessons. Advanced bookings required. All group lessons are conducted in Japanese. There are a few rental shops in the Appi area and the Hotel Appi Grand carries the latest in performance equipment and a wide range of sizes that best cater for foreign guests. They have a large fleet of modern, quality equipment for all levels and style of snow riding and also have English speaking staff.

Dining
Appi comprises of a few lodges and hotels centred at the base of the mountain, with most restaurants, services and facilities situated within hotels. Accessing the village on foot is easy as all amenities, services, accommodations, and ski lifts are a short walk away. There are a couple of bars within the hotels open till midnight, and private karaoke rooms are available for hire.
