Madarao can be reached in 3h 30min from Narita. Take the Skyline train from Narita to Ueno and transfer to the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Iiyama. Here a shuttle service will take you to Madarao Kogen.

Madarao has a number of dining options from casual Japanese Izakaya, Okonomiyaki and Shabu Shabu restaurants to Pizza and Italian restaurants as well as some exciting new concepts option for the 2018/19 seasons. There are a number of bars and pubs in the village but Madarao is not a late night ski town.
